When the COVID-19 is raging in 2020, Milan residents especially appreciate the accurate and timely communication on domestic waste management during the epidemic (average score is 7,95).
The cooperation with citizens has achieved results recognized at the European level, making Milan one of the most environmentally friendly cities with a waste sorting rate of over 63%. Most respondents stated that they understand the benefits of garbage classification: 46.7% believe they know it very well, while 52.3% believe they know enough.
Continuing to discuss the correct way of garbage disposal, 13.9% of respondents used the large garbage collection service, 84% of respondents were aware of this service, and gave it an average rating of 8.7 points. The recycling center has also received high praise, with a quarter of respondents having used it and receiving an average rating of 8.5 points.
The street cleaning service has also received positive feedback, with an average rating of 7.42 points and a satisfaction rate of up to 90%. Among them, the most popular urban sanitation service is the cleaning of parks, gardens, and market after-sales areas, with a rating of 7.5 points. Next are garbage collection and cleaning of children's playgrounds and dog walking areas (7,3 points), street disinfection during the epidemic lockdown period, and sidewalk weeding (7,2 points).
