Performance specifications

Cold rolled sheet has good performance, that is, through cold rolling, cold-rolled strip steel and steel plate with thinner thickness and higher precision can be obtained. It has high flatness, high surface smoothness, clean and bright surface, easy coating processing, multiple varieties, and wide applications. At the same time, it has the characteristics of high stamping performance, non aging, and low yield point. Therefore, cold-rolled sheet has a wide range of applications, mainly used in industries such as automobiles, printed iron drums, construction, building materials, bicycles, etc. It is also the best material for producing organic coated steel plates.

 

Common defects

Edge crack defect
The enrichment of large inclusions at the edges is one of the main causes of edge cracking. Due to the use of a funnel-shaped crystallizer in thin slab casting, the uneven flow and heat transfer inside the crystallizer, as well as the fluctuation of the liquid level, are more complex than those in traditional slab continuous casting. During the casting process, slag entrapment often occurs, and a portion of the slag entrapment remains on the surface of the slab, forming surface inclusions. Larger inclusion particles deposit at the edges of the slab, resulting in the enrichment of large oxide inclusions at the edges.


Iron oxide scale indentation defect
The incompletely removed iron oxide scale was pressed into the strip during the subsequent rolling process, causing surface defects on the strip. The failure to open the secondary descaling water and other reasons are the key factors causing the defect of secondary iron oxide scale being pressed in. The defect tracking results indicate that the iron oxide scale indentation defect can be basically eliminated during the subsequent pickling and cold rolling processes, and has little effect on the cold-rolled plate.


Surface defects
Black linear defects on the surface of the strip steel before cold rolling after pickling. The surface defects of cold-rolled strip steel mainly come from the defects of hot-rolled base materials, with inclusions on the surface of hot-rolled plates being the main type of defects. The possibility of defects occurring on the cold-rolled production line itself is very small.
