What is the difference between garbage bins made of galvanized sheet and stainless steel?

Jul 18, 2024

At present, there are generally three types of metal trash cans on the market: cold-rolled steel plate, galvanized steel plate, and stainless steel.

1. Stainless steel outperforms the previous two in terms of corrosion resistance, but if the thickness of stainless steel is not sufficient, the panel is prone to deformation due to external forces, and if stainless steel is thickened, the cost is higher. Therefore, considering the overall cost-effectiveness, the proportion of stainless steel trash cans on the market is relatively small.

2. Galvanized sheet is actually a steel plate, which is coated with a layer of metallic zinc on the surface of the steel plate to prevent corrosion and extend its service life. This zinc coated steel plate is called galvanized sheet. The anti-corrosion performance of cold-rolled steel plates is relatively weak, and they will oxidize and rust when in contact with air. Therefore, the surface of the product generally needs to be painted or sprayed with plastic.

3. Therefore, under the same production process and outdoor conditions, the anti-corrosion performance of galvanized steel sheet is one level higher than that of cold-rolled steel sheet, and its service life is relatively longer.

Firstly, the cost of using galvanized steel plates for classified garbage bins is relatively lower compared to outdoor classified garbage bins made of stainless steel, so the natural selling price will be more appealing to consumers. In addition, compared to ordinary wooden or iron garbage bins, galvanized steel plates for classified garbage bins have certain anti-corrosion and rust prevention capabilities, and have a longer service life. Of course, there are not only advantages, but also certain disadvantages of classified garbage bins made of galvanized sheet material. The anti-corrosion and anti rust capabilities we just mentioned are only relative, and do not mean they fully possess anti-corrosion and anti rust capabilities. Compared with stainless steel garbage bins, they are inferior in terms of anti rust capabilities. Other than this aspect, the difference is not significant. Therefore, many customers tend to choose classified garbage bins made of galvanized sheet material when their requirements are not high. The classification garbage bin for galvanized sheet refers to a steel plate with a layer of zinc on its surface. Galvanizing is a commonly used economical and effective anti-corrosion method! Galvanized sheet is a thin steel plate coated with a layer of metallic zinc to prevent corrosion and extend its service life. This zinc coated steel plate is called galvanized sheet. This is the difference between galvanized steel plate and ordinary steel plate.
